We were in Shanghai for five days and discovered it had changed a lot since we’d visited in 2005. There were shops everywhere, selling the latest fashions as well as young designers who had started their own businesses on hip Changle Lu. The first night we found ourselves at an opening for a lifestyle/T-shirt shop called Eno, where we caught a glimpse of Shanghai street fashion.
In Shanghai we met the very talented designer James Chang, who showed us where we could get denim battered, rumpled, and altered in any way imaginable. James and his girlfriend are discussing what they want with the denim “technician.”
